About the Event

More than a year into the pandemic, 2021 is shaping up to be another interesting and historic year with a slew of impactful federal and state legislative action, requirements, and guidelines. There’s no shortage of critical areas for businesses to navigate.

Join Rehmann as we discuss planning opportunities and critical considerations for manufacturers --  including the employee retention credit, research and development credit and navigating state and local tax guidance.

Our presenters:

Mike Powell, Director of Manufacturing Service provides tax consulting studies, focused on identifying opportunities to help clients reduce their tax burden. He is a firm-wide authority for research and development (R&D) tax credit studies, domestic production activity deductions, accounting methods and periods, exposure items, and inventory analysis for LIFO and §263A. Mike leads Rehmann’s manufacturing group, serving hundreds of clients in the industry.

Chuck Wright, Senior Manager, State and Local Taxacts is a state and local tax advisor to clients across all industries. He helps clients in assessing risk and dealing with audits and assessments. He also works collaboratively with his clients to develop creative solutions to minimize state tax burden going forward and identify refund opportunities to bring in cash on a current basis.

Anthony Licovoli Jr., CPA and Principal supervises tax engagements for clients in a multitude of industries. He is a member of the firm's international and income tax accounting (ASC 740) groups. Anthony also sits on the firm’s tax reform subcommittee, helping to develop content and tools to assist advisors and educate clients on the technical aspects of new tax legislation.

The Manufacturing Growth Alliance (MGA) is a membership-based organization that provides services to help manufacturers build smart, lead strong, and establish a pathway for future growth. MGA’s services drive solutions that will make manufacturing in Michigan the most competitive and prosperous in the nation.
