Grants and Incentives for Manufacturers

Generally, grants and incentives are available to manufacturers when they are growing, innovating and/or doing something interesting or timely. Local, state and federal governments make grants and offer incentives to businesses. In fact there are more than 900 grant programs offered by the 26 federal grant-making agencies alone. Industry organizations, educational institutions, utilities and even other companies make grants to businesses.

About the Presenter

For 10 years Dawn McCormick has helped businesses secure and manage grants and incentives growth and development. She works with business, industry, education, government and the nonprofit sector to realize opportunities for manufacturers in Michigan. Prior to starting her business in 2011, Dawn worked with the Michigan Small Business Development Centers, the American Society of Employers and U.S. Steel. In all three she served the economic, workforce and community development needs of Michigan's business community.
